There But For the Grace…

True Way of Life
What’s Your Problem?
There But For the Grace…
There but for the Grace of God – Go I,
These words I’ve often wondered why?
How can the murderer, prostitute, drunk be me!
Look deeper friend and you will see.
There but for the Grace – Go you or I,
And so you ask the question … Why?
That same question asked to the Master long ago,
Who is my neighbor? – Explain it so…
That I may know just who they are,
Are they near or are they far.
Love your neighbor as yourself, the great command,
My neighbor is myself, now I understand.
The inner being created just like me,
No differences that I can see!
I could be them – But for the Grace,
I see myself within every face.
I look into the souls of men,
I see myself reflected within,
So you are me and I am you,
From one God, one source, one family grew.
Compassion swells, I now know why,
There but for the Grace of God – Go I.
